Subtractive color mixing is the kind of mixing you get if you illuminate colored filters with white light from behind

Subtractive color mixing means that one begins with white and ends with black; as one adds color, the result gets darker and tends to black.

This album explores the same effect but thru the elements of music.

I approached musician and composer extraordinaire Killick Hinds with the idea of building a musical landscape around the subtractive colo(u)r model.

Each piece is influenced by its hues, and each transforms static tone into shape-shifting prisms of musical uncovering.

Killick's incredible virtuosity, openness and desire for exploration fueled this project with the needed energy.
